NENA FLOR CAMBARE-PIGA, MD, FAAP

Dr. Nena Piga has been practicing in Plano for over 25 years. She attended medical school at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine in the Philippines. She then trained extensively in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine Thomason General Hospital in El Paso and at the Central Texas Medical Foundation's Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, including one year of fellowship in hematology and oncology at the former Wadley Institutes of Molecular Medicine in Dallas in 1978.

Dr. Nena Piga is Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, a fellow and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its state chapter, the Texas Pediatric Society, and a member of the North Texas Association of Philippine Physicians, the UERMMMC Medical Alumni Associations in America and the Philippines, and the Plano Physicians Network. She is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas and the Philippines and maintains hospital privileges at the Medical Center of Plano and the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.

As a wife, a mother and now a grandmother, she strives to understand her patients and their families and to treat them like her own. She takes pride and joy in the diversity of patients in her practice as much as she enjoys the children she encounters in her travels. She is very much concerned about their well-being, whether they are her patients in her practice in Plano or patients she serves during her medical missions in the Philippines. She is always grateful for every opportunity to serve and to learn from the infants, children and teenagers that she treats.
